I Can't Get No

I haven't been happy with blogger for awhile and I've been too lazy to look for alternatives. Well, Needlefingers recently ventured over to Wordpress, so I decided to try to it out too. Click here to see the site I've been playing with. So far I really like it, particularly being able to put in whatever picture in the heading I want without dicking with html.

Trash Talking

For the past two weeks, they haven't picked up our trash. They being the city we live in. We are lucky enough to live in a city which has curbside trash pickup. The first time I blew it off, but the second time I went into a near blind rage. I called the santitation department of our city and criticized their operation from the peon who answered the phone to the "supervisor" I spoke with last. They politely stated that the toter was too close to a white car (my car) and that the toter needed to be at least four feet from any vehicle for the automated trash truck to pick it up. I asked why one of the guys in the truck couldn't get out and move the toter so the arm could reach it without risking hitting a car and he said that basically the arm took the place of any employee that might perform such a task. He also politely said they could come back by for a $15 charge. You have to understand that our monthly trash pickup charge is $12, so there was no way in hell I was going to do that. I went on to rant and rave and ask for a refund of $6 on my trash pickup since ours hadn't been picked up for two weeks which of course wasn't going to happen. The guy put me on hold to check why they hadn't picked up the trash on the first week and I just hung up knowing I was going to get nowhere. I was kind of ridiculous acting and I'm embarrassed to tell that I did this, but I was so frustrated at the time. Stay tuned for next week when they won't pick up our trash for the third week in a row because our toter lid won't close because of all the trash that has mounded up, another of their "rules".

Puckered End of No Place

It's snowing and I'm at home sipping coffee which is one of the best feelings in life to me. The snow cover we had this morning has gone, but the snowfall has gotten harder. I wish we were looking at several days of snow and accumulation. I know snow and the cold is a big headache for alot of people but I love it so much. Sometimes I wish I lived further north where snowfall happened more often. I can just hear all the boos from my readership as I write this, all four of them.

Backbreaking

I've spent the last couple of days farming and trying to get a grip on my new work duties and I have to say I'm worn out. Those strawberries come in like crazy and I'm up at 2:30 some nights harvesting and planting, but strangely my hands are as clean as a whistle. Also, I'm on the cusp of obtaining a chicken coop or a barn, just one more day I think.

As for work, I'm back to supervising and the excitement never ends and the phone never stops ringing. How do you guide someone else's life when you can't even steer your own?

Rolling

It's the time of year when all the Thanksgiving and Christmas eating starts to show. Well, not exactly show, as in the case of the pocket of fat that has taken up residence between my thighs, but become apparent if not to everyone.

That being the case, I went to the gym today. I figured there would be fat people climbing all over each other, but there was a pretty sparse crowd. I'm sure that will change during the week with all the resoluting and false hopes of the chubby. I just want to walk without my thighs rubbing and have my jeans actually not roll down when I put them on. Is that too much to ask?

Telly

I am overwhelmed by and so excited about all the new shows that are starting this month. I won't have to think about anything for 5 months other than if I have enough room on my DVR to record the shows that are coming on that particular night. Starting this month are:
1. American Idol
2. Battlestar Galactica
3. Nip/Tuck
4. Big Love
5. Lost
and 6. The Real World

I'm sure there are many more, but I'll be watching all of these with the exception of Lost, but I may watch it, too if Ragged is still into it. Not that I'll know what's going on, but does anybody really?
