The Return

Ragged's home! It's not quite as fun as I would have thought. Just kidding. It's nice to have her back. We did some running around tonight but didn't end up buying anything but dinner, but we have some ideas about what we're going to do with the house. We're getting some curtains for the French doors and we've returned at least 3 sets having found another set we like better. Unfortunately, the last set we liked were out of stock and there's no way of knowing when or if they will be replenished or if we can get them as they are very popular apparently. There is always something.

Culkin

What does one do when one is alone and hankering for some food that isn't leftovers but doesn't want to spend alot of money? Well, the answer is Sam's for a pizza combo. For $2.63 you get a big ole coke and a couple slabs of pizza. Umm umm good. Not to mention they have gas for $2.38 a gallon.

Ragged is still gone and she will be for another two days. Why does it seem like the rug gets pulled out from under you when your partner is gone? Come home soon, Ragged.

Where Oh Where Are You Tonight?

Ragged is gone. Not like Staples in the 90s after the hail storm, but really gone. She goes to a conference once a year and typically I go with her, but since she is only going two hours away, I decided to skip this trip. I'm regretting that decision as loneliness is setting in. I have alot to do and to keep me occupied, but none of it sounds appealing.

Anyway, my thoughts are starting to turn to Christmas. It's less than 2 months away, for those of you without calendars. It's hard to believe it's already almost here again. The weather is about to take a turn for the colder and I'm not sure our heater is up to the challenge, so I need to schedule someone to come take a look at it. Also, I need to make sure the mortgage company has our insurance policy. I hate all those little annoying chores.

The Rest of the World

I actually have to go into work today. I've managed to work from home all week which is sort of not easy as I usually end up going into work for some portion of the day at least twice but usually three times a week. Anyway, apparently there are preparations being made for renovations to our office. Some people are being moved to another floor. We will soon take over the entire floor and the additional space will be divided into more offices for our growing staff. Thank you meth! Some of the offices will be torn down and others will have new walls and doorways added. It should be a good old mess for a long time. I can only imagine the issues that will arise.

Ode to the Lazy

The last two days have been pretty uneventful. I have been at home working hard (read as hardly working). Tonight Ragged and I opted to not cook dinner, so we went out to a new pizza place. The Pizza was pretty good, but Cecilia's has those new restaurant business issues. You know what I mean? Anyway, I cleaned out my car which was a goal that I've had for at least two weeks now but other than that I've been pretty useless. I know you find that hard to believe.

Slashing and Caching

Shew! We just got back from our second and the fourth Cache Slash Fest. I have to say we had a terrific time and the sentiment seemed to be shared with most of the attendees. The Cache Slash Crew outdid themselves this year. The festivities started at 11:00 a.m. but as a guest of Needles and Pilot we were on hand earlier. After we got the coordinates for our caches, we and the rest of the cachers hit the road. Ragged and I started off by turning the wrong way out of the driveway which wasn't a great way to kick things off, but we eventually got straightened out and found all eight caches. Later, we participated in Survivor-based games where Ragged's team won and Ragged herself came in second place of winning the title of ultimate survivor. There wasn't a million dollars at the end but the fun we had was worth way more than that. We then got to partake of some awesome food and got to sit by the fire late into the night. We had such a great time, I can't express and getting to spend time with Needles, Pilot, Rudy, Brando, the kids and Howie and Ju Ju was also a treat. In addition, we got to meet a loving cat, a happy dog, some munchie horses, some strutting ostriches and got to appreciate some beautiful landscape and innovative halloween decorations. Simpatico

Ever feel like you're just not quite jiving with people. Seems like everyone I've talked to lately, I feel like I'm not on the same wave length as them. It's difficult to describe but it's definitely a trend. I think I'm spending too much time alone.

What Do You Want Me To Do...

Lately all I want to do is go to Dairy Queen and eat chocolate extreme blizzards every day. Once I get a food item on my mind, I can't think of much else until I have it and lately these little delicious concoctions are my obsession and a small size is only $2.10. Anytime I see a commercial or an advertisement or even if someone mentions some food they had, I have to have it shortly thereafter. That's not good, I realize, but it's the truth nonetheless. I'm a sick, sick man.

Once Upon A Time

Since we moved, Ragged and I have both been guilty of stalking our old house. Not that we want to live there anymore, it's just curiosity to know what the other people are doing with our old place. We've driven by numerous times and on a recent trip, I saw a bunch of limbs in the front yard. I mentioned it to Ragged and she had driven by on her own and noticed it as well. I went by again to try to get a better idea what was going on and I even drove in the alleyway behind it to see what had happened. It looked like one of the trees had fallen and taken down the lines to the house. It looked like they had power and I didn't see any damage to the garage or house, but I couldn't in the brief glimpse I got figure out which tree had gone down. It may have been one from the neighbors yard. Anyway, what I really want to do is walk all the way around the house and go inside and see what they have done. Why I'm so curious, I'm not sure, but each time I go over in that area, I drive by and look and remember.

McDrafty

I knew I was pushing the limit but I just didn't know how much. When you find a pair of pants that you like and that fit well, it's hard to give them up, so I have worn a certain pair of khakis even though they are raggedy. Tonight, Ragged and I went out to dinner and I wore said pants as I had worn them to work today and I didn't feel like changing clothes. After we had been seated, I realized I needed to use the restroom so I got up to go. In doing so, I realized something wasn't right about the seat of my pants. Reaching back, I realized there was a large opening just beneath my left cheek. I tried to cover it as I went on to the restroom. When I got back to the table, I informed Ragged of my predicament and after dinner, we walked out with her close behind me to conceal the opening which showed my underwear and alot of the skin of my leg. We made it home and I disposed of the pants. I had to wonder if there was an opening in my pants all day long. I was tempted to call a co-worker to see if she had noticed anything today, but I'm not sure I want to know the answer.

On the Range

This week I have enjoyed a lot of time at home. I don't have to go back into the office until friday which is unusual. Usually I have to go in on Thursdays and Fridays at least but not this week. Needless to say my hygiene has been less than impeccable. One day I don't think I brushed my teeth or wore deodorant much to Ragged's chagrin.

WTF

Well I tried to update my blogger template and it's all jacked up. I don't know what the deal is. Oh, well.

All Day Long

Ragged got up early and "ran" off to her annual company marathon (pun intended) and Cynical slept in. For the past three nights, I have slept better than I have in a long time. I realize just writing these words jinxed me and I will never sleep well again, but I just had to tell somebody. Anyway, Ragged got back home about noon and we went and grabbed some lunch. A little later my parents came to town. They were doing a little furniture shopping and stopped by. My sister and niece came over a little later and visited as well. My niece got her ears pierced today! She is all of four, soon to be five and she has her ears pierced. Where has the time gone? She was also wearing a Hannah Montana shirt which sort of disturbed me. My sister explained that she didn't know who Hannah Montana was, she just wanted to have shirts like the rest of her school (read as daycare). This too disturbed me but I guess I can't be surprised. Anyway, she didn't cry at all when she got pierced and she does look really cute with pierced ears I have to admit. Also today my niece went to the emergi care. Turns out she has bronchitis, but the funny part is she had to have a chest X-ray to diagnose it. My sister explained to her that an X-ray was like a picture so she wouldn't be afraid since my sister couldn't be in the room with her during it. So, my niece cheesed during the X-ray since it was "like a picture". Anyway, after my family left Ragged and I went down for a nap. I was unable to find sleep but Ragged was sawing logs in no time. After bumming around the house for awhile trying to be quiet, I decided to hit the road and do a little shopping. I hit Wal-mart, Target, Best Buy, and Kroger purchasing a day planner for work since my employer will not be supplying them for the next year, some things for dinner, and a sweet tea from Mickey D's. I also picked up "Ironman" to watch tonight. I traded in one of our other movies for it. It was the only one on the shelf. Anyway, I've got dinner going (lasagna with spinach) and we are enjoying the weather on our porch. Ragged has woken up, wiped the slobber from her cheek and has undertaken a knitting project. Kind of a pleasurable day.
